Mark Cooper

Business Development Director

After graduating with a BE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney in 1978, Mark worked in the NSW electricity industry for 20 years, moving from technical engineering roles into business development and commercial roles. This included managing an international business unit with projects in China, Vietnam and Indonesia for Sydney Electricity.

In 1998, he moved into the gas industry developing gas and power projects across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region with CNG International. Following the acquisition of Epic Energy and the closure of CNG's Australian office, Mark took up a national business development role with Epic Energy. Here he accepted the position of General Manager Commercial for the DBP group of companies and was responsible for the operations of the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline and the development of new business opportunities for the group.

In 2015, Mark retired from corporate life and established Cooper Gas & Energy Consultants Pty Ltd, specialising in advising businesses and government agencies on energy supply options and gas pipeline developments.

Mark has served on a number of industry associations and Ministerial committees in the energy sector during his career. He served as a Director of Austenergy for 3 years, the Australian Pipeline and Gas Association for 9 years and was appointed as a pipeline industry representative on WA Government committees for the development of gas markets and resources industry safety.
