FlowTran-X was deployed to provide the developer of a new gas processing facility in Australia with insights into connection options to bring gas to markets. Negotiations were being undertaken with operators of 2 different pipeline systems.
Challenges
Each operator had different concept designs.
The technical requirements to connect to each system differed.
Solution
The pipeline advisor to the developer was able to develop models of the existing systems and simulate different flow and pressure scenarios from the new facility to each of the existing systems.
Outcome
Having flow and pressure scenarios available allowed the developer to verify and/or refute claims by the pipeline operators about the impact on their systems of the new connection during negotiations.
